Late News of the Exursions and Ravages of the King's Troops

Author: Harold Murdock
Subject: Americana; War of Independence; Revolutionary War; Lexington; Concord; Boston; British; April 19th; 1775
Language: English
Collection: americana

Description

Harold Murdock presents what was then new information of Lt. Sutherland (later published in Allen French's "General Gage's Informers") and Richard Pope's Book (Diary), both regarding the affair of April 19, 1775 (the Battle of Lexington and Concord). The latter is important because it was never published, and the original Richard Pope's Book is in the Huntington Library, San Marino, CA, with microfilm copies at a few other libraries. This book only covers that portion of Pope's book pertaining to April 19, 1775. This book had only 163 copies printed. Published in 1927, it never had its copyright renewed, and so is now in the public domain.
